16. Conclusion

I received my PhD from the Computer Science Department, the University of Ayn Shams, Cairo, Egypt in 1998. I am currently a Researcher at the Informatics Department, the Electronics Research Institute and a part-time lecturer at Cairo University. I am the first researcher to use Arabic in the published papers in the field of computer engineering. So I receive an award of honor of the best Arab informatics researcher “Al-Kindi” from The Syrian Computer Society, Damascus University, 2009.  I am strongly motivated to transfer the Western know-how technology to the Arab world. I have written and published a number of research papers on how to properly utilize and apply this technology to Arabic taking into consideration the idiosyncrasy of Arabic. My research focuses on machine translation evaluation, natural language resources, Arabic lexicography and semantics, morphological analysis, sentence generation and disambiguation. I have participated with research papers in several national and international conferences, delivered talks and made presentations in Tunisia, Syria, the Emirates, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, etc. I served as an Arab co-chair for the Workshop on (CSPA, 2005), the Second International Conference on Computer Science Practice in Arabic and also a member of the Executive and Publishing Committee of INFOS6, Cairo University. I am a consultant to the staff of Red Verse Company working on the Linguistic and e-learning.
